Meet Your Mentor: Heena Akolkar (Desai).
Latest achievement: Winner of Challenge 165 Crochet Stitches Season-3 (2025–26), conducted by Mother India Crochet Queen (MICQ = Mother India Crochet Queen) Group.
Since childhood, artwork in every form has been her passion. She learned Classical Bharat Natyam dance and completed her Arangetram. She has also completed a Diploma in Costume Design and Dress Making.
Her creative interests include drawing, painting, knitting, mehndi, embroidery, stitching, and crochet work.
From 2002 to 2011, she laid the foundation of “Swayam-Siddha,” a handicrafts wholesale unit.
In 2015, she started acting and performed character roles in Gujarati movies and advertisements in 4 languages.
During the Corona period in 2020, she learned through 30+ different courses.
From 2024, she decided to concentrate on one skill—CROCHET WORK. After selling a few crochet products, she is now ready to coach passionate, committed women to become “ATMANIRBHAR.”
